Casinacho Games

★★★★☆ 4.3 Editor rating

Casinacho Games is a casual pick-up-and-play bundle built around short rounds you can finish in a minute or two. Each mini-game has its own little ruleset, from timing taps to matching patterns, and the whole thing is held together by a cheerful cartoon style that doesn't try too hard. We expected it to feel thin after an hour, but the variety kept us coming back during commutes.

Controls are the strong point here. Everything runs on simple taps and swipes, the hit areas are generous, and you can play one-handed without fighting the layout. The settings menu lets you turn off the background music separately from sound effects, which sounds minor until you're playing on a train and want the taps but not the loop.

On battery it's gentle. After roughly forty minutes on our older test phone the drain was modest and the device stayed cool, which is exactly what you want from something you dip into throughout the day. It's not a deep game and it doesn't pretend to be, but as a relaxed time-filler it does the job well.
